Fallbacks cannot be pinned to the Dock #46587

Installation method

Area(s) with issue?

Command Palette

Steps to reproduce

With 0.98.1 it is now possible to pin shortcuts to the dock; however pinning Fallbacks to the dock does not work. For example, searching "Mouse Without Borders" provides three Fallbacks:

  1. Mouse Without Borders
  2. Toggle Easy Mouse
  3. Reconnect

Right-clicking on any these shows the "Pin to Dock" option, and in the case something has been pinned, shows the "Unpin to Dock". However, none of these function actually appear on the dock when they are pinned.

This behaviour extends to pinning full paths to executables. While pinning a shortcut to the Dock functions correctly, it is not possible to search for the full path of the executable and pin that Fallback to the Dock. This leads to only being able only to add shortcuts with 16x16 icons and the shortcut overlay icon taking up 1/4 of the shortcut. As a suggestion, it would be great to hide the shortcut overlay from pinned icons, though this would not address the underlying issue.

✔️ Expected Behavior

Pinning a Fallback to the Dock should have the function appear on the dock and be interactable.

❌ Actual Behavior

The Dock understands that the function is pinned, but the function does not appear on the Dock.
