🧩 Slack Help Channel Framework (Draft)

1. Channel Purpose
   • A dedicated space for members to request technical help with Make-a-Space tools and projects.
   • Focused on guidance and collaboration, not “drop-off” services.
   • Members-only, reinforcing community value.
2. Posting Guidelines
   When asking for help, members should include:
   • Tool/Area: e.g., “3D Printer”, “Laser Cutter”, “Electronics Bench”
   • Issue/Need: short description of the problem or task
   • Availability: when they can be in the space (or if remote advice is possible)
   • Urgency: whether it’s blocking a project or just a learning request
   Example post:
   Tool: Laser Cutter
   Issue: Trouble aligning material for precision cuts
   Availability: Thursday evening
   Urgency: Blocking project completion
3. Response Guidelines
   • Super Users / Knowledgeable Members: Reply if you can help, ideally with a time slot.
   • Other Members: Share tips, resources, or experiences if relevant.
   • Keep replies constructive and concise — follow up in person if needed.
4. Channel Structure
   • Pinned Post: Quick instructions on how to ask for help.
   • Tags/Keywords: Encourage members to start posts with , , for easy scanning.
   • Weekly Digest: Optional — a short recap of unresolved requests to keep visibility.
5. Moderation / Flow
   • Trustees or designated moderators ensure posts stay on-topic.
   • If a request is resolved, the original poster can add “:white_tick: Resolved” to the thread.
   • Encourage members to thank helpers — keeps morale high.
6. Future Enhancements (Optional)
   • Create a FAQ pinned doc with common issues and solutions.
   • Link to super user contact list (matching the tool notices idea).
   • Consider a “Help Hours” thread where super users post their availability.
